Karate for Peace Project Tigray
From 9 to 11 May 2025, Sabaki Ashihara and Kenyu Ryu Ethiopia went back to the Tigray region, in the city of Shire, where for two years it has been carrying out the project “Karate for Peace” with the support of the non-profit association Sabaki Ashihara and Beyond Our Borders – Oltre i Nostri Confini ETS.
The activity of spreading Kenyu Ryu and Ashihara Karate has also expanded to the kindergarden run by the Catholic Sisters of St. Jeanne Antide.
On Saturday and Sunday the regional karate championships tooked place at the Don Bosco center, where dojos from Mekelle, Adigrat, Axum, Adwa, Quha, Shiraro, Endabaguna and Shire participated, and The tournament had a significant number of participants in the Champions League. Additionally, the Ashihara and Kenryu schools took part in traditional karate. There was a stage performance featuring Shihan Adriano and the Shire Karate students.

A great success in the name of Karate for Peace,
On the occasion, karategi and t-shirts collected by Kenyu Kai Italia of Master Claudio Chicarella and Master Sabrina Tariciotti who constantly follow the school’s activities on this continent, were donated to Sensei Tedros Giyohanis for karate school students of Shire.
